Princess Polly Romper Review for Petite & Busty Girls (Sizing Tips)

I bought this adorable playsuit from Princess Polly, and overall I’m a fan. That said, there are a few important things to know about their clothing—especially if you have a similar body type to mine. I’m petite with a slim frame but naturally a bit busty. For reference, I’m around 100 pounds and wear a 32DDD, which definitely affects how certain pieces fit, especially more structured ones like this.

The first thing to note about this romper is that it has little to no stretch. Depending on the item, some Princess Polly pieces do have a bit of give—like certain polyester tops or blends—but this particular romper is primarily cotton. Because of that, it feels more structured and less forgiving. The shoulders are especially snug, which can make it a bit tricky to get on and off comfortably.

I typically wear a size 0 or 2, so I ordered within my usual range. When I tried it on, I was initially excited because it fit perfectly through the waist and hips. However, the bust area was a completely different story. It technically “fit,” but it was way too tight across my chest and didn’t sit comfortably at all. If you have a fuller bust, you probably already know this struggle—something can fit everywhere else and still not work because there just isn’t enough room up top.

Because of that, I ended up exchanging it for a size up. I’m hopeful that the larger size will give me the extra room I need in the bust without being too loose everywhere else. If you’re built similarly, I would definitely recommend sizing up right away to save yourself the hassle.

If you don’t have a fuller bust, I think you’ll be totally fine ordering your normal size. The only thing you might still want to consider is the tightness in the shoulders. Even without a larger chest, the structured cotton and lack of stretch could make it feel a bit restrictive, so sizing up could still be a more comfortable option depending on your preference.

Aside from the fit challenges, I do think this romper is such a cute summer piece. The design is flattering, and it has that effortless, put-together look that’s perfect for warm weather outings. I can already picture wearing it to summer picnics, casual brunches, or even just a day out shopping.

When I tried it on, I styled it with a pair of Sam Edelman loafers to see the full potential of the outfit, and it looked super cute. It gave more of a polished, slightly preppy vibe. I also think switching it up with a pair of brown boots—similar to how the model styled it—would look amazing and give it more of a trendy, fashion-forward feel.

Overall, I’d still recommend this piece, just with a heads-up about the fit. If you go in knowing you may need to size up—especially for the bust and shoulders—you’ll probably love it as much as I do.
