Princess Polly Mona Heels Review: True to Size or Size Up?

If you’ve been around here for more than five seconds, you know I love a shoe that makes an outfit feel done. Not overdone. Not try-hard. Just effortlessly cool.

That is exactly how I feel about the Princess Polly Mona Heels in black. I’m not dramatic, but these might be my favorite going-out heels I own right now.

First, let’s talk sizing because that’s always the biggest question. I ordered my usual size, and they fit perfectly. No weird slipping in the heel, no toe hanging over the edge, no wishing I had sized up or down. They are truly true to size.

If you have narrow feet like me, you understand the struggle. So many heels gap at the sides or feel loose in the straps. These don’t. The straps sit snug without digging in, and my foot feels secure when I walk. They’re structured enough to feel supportive but still sleek and minimal. No bulky platform. No clunky shape. Just clean lines.

What I really love about these heels is that they’re the perfect in-between. You know those days when your outfit feels fine but not exciting? Like you’re wearing jeans and a cute top, and it’s good… but it’s missing something?

That’s where these come in.

They’re more elevated than sandals but way more wearable than a stiletto. Sometimes stilettos feel too intense or too formal. And sandals can feel too casual when you actually want to look put together. The Mona heels sit right in the middle. They give that effortless “I didn’t try too hard” energy while still making you look polished.

One of my favorite ways to wear them is with straight-leg jeans and a fitted tank or tube top. It’s my default going-out uniform. The black heels instantly elevate the whole look and make it feel intentional. They make denim look dressy without making you look overdressed.

They’re also perfect with a little black dress. Because they’re minimal, they don’t compete with the outfit. They just elongate your legs and keep everything sleek. Whether you’re going to dinner, drinks, a birthday party, or anywhere you want to look cute but not over-the-top, they work.

I also love them with mini dresses. They give that clean, model-off-duty vibe. The heel height is enough to add shape and length, but not so high that you’re wobbling around. I can actually walk in them comfortably, which matters. We are not suffering for fashion anymore.

In terms of comfort, they’re genuinely good for a going-out heel. Are they sneakers? No. But the heel height feels manageable and stable. I can stand and walk around without counting down the minutes until I can take them off. They don’t feel wobbly or flimsy, which is a huge plus for me.

Black heels are a staple, but not all black heels are equal. Some feel too corporate. Some are too strappy. Some are so trendy that they’ll look dated in a year. These feel classic but still cool. They don’t scream for attention, but they definitely get compliments.

If you’re building a closet that feels elevated but still wearable, these are such a smart addition. They go with jeans, dresses, skirts, trousers, literally everything I own. And because they’re not as formal as a stiletto, I don’t feel silly wearing them to casual dinners or low-key nights out.

If you’ve been looking for a versatile black heel that feels modern, flattering, and easy to style, I truly can’t recommend the Princess Polly Mona Heels enough.

They’re true to size. They’re great for narrow feet. They instantly elevate simple outfits. And they hit that perfect balance between casual and dressy. For me, they’ve become one of those pieces that saves an outfit every single time. And that’s exactly the kind of staple I want in my closet.
